Testimonials from our Clients

July 2010

Steve and Brent,

A note to thank you and your staff for everything that you did. The auction went off without a hitch. Everything you said would happen did…the advertising, the open house, the tent, the chairs, the website, it was all done.

Your availability by phone to answer my questions and clam my own anxiety was an added bonus.

I am still in awe that the house sold in these tough economic times. It sold for a price that we needed to in order to settle the estate was ever more astounding.

Please feel free to have anyone contact me as a reference as I would be more than pleased to recommend Zogg Brothers.

Thanks,
Debbie Spaulding

Auction for the Estate of Bennie Sawyer
On-Site:  63 South Main St.  Oakfield, NY 14125 (Genesee County) July 18,2009

Dear Reader,

When my Uncle passed away last year, it became my responsibility to settle his estate. Most importantly, his house, land and personal possessions had to be sold. I had no idea what to do in this situation. The house also needed some tender loving care. This dwelling held a lot of sentimental value for me. My parents and uncles had built this house 60 years ago. When I was a baby, my first walking steps were taken on those very floors. We asked several acquaintances if they would be interested in buying the house and property.  It was apparent that most people wanted to buy the house at a price well below fair market value. Needless to say, I was very disappointed and didn’t know what to do next.

One day, Brent Zogg called me on the telephone. He informed me that he and his brother Steve have an auction business in Cortland, New York. I found out that the Zoggs could auction our house to the highest bidder. This way, the auction bidders would determine the fair market value. I told him that I would consider his offer. In the meanwhile, we had a local realtor look at the house. The realtor pointed out all the flaws in the house and then hastily left the premises never to be heard from or seen again. I then put my faith in the Zoggs and hired them to auction off the house, property and its contents. They walked us through every step in the auction process. They came out to the house and identified articles from the house that could be sold. We got a dumpster and cleaned out the things that needed disposal.

Soon, a date was set for the auction. A bright sign was put in the front lawn of the house advertising the date of the open house. In a slot on the sign were pamphlets outlining the terms of sale for the house. Advertising was also done online and in the newspaper. When the day of the auction came, the Zoggs put up a tent, tables and chairs in the yard. Marisa Zogg, Steve’s wife, was present and kept all the paperwork straight and legal.  The house had been opened again for public viewing. The items we had identified for sale were neatly organized into categories and ready to be sold to the highest bidder. The auctioning of the house began on time. The bidding started and folks were indeed interested. The bids were increasing and I felt good about the outcome. The final buying price was much more than any of us expected.

The high bidders turned out to be very nice people who wanted to get working on renovating their newly acquired house right away. I know my late relatives would be proud that their hard work and sweat equity turned out to be such a valuable asset. I am delighted that the house and property will live on and give others pleasure.

Steve, Brent and Marisa Zogg and their support crew are the reason for this positive sales outcome. They are ethical, positive and professional in their business dealings. When they say they are going to do something, they do it. The Zoggs are great communicators and will keep in touch with you throughout the entire business process. They will listen to you and accommodate your wishes. I recommend them very highly. They welcome the opportunity to serve others throughout the state by selling real estate, merchandise or whatever else you want to sell. I know I will call on them again when it is time to sell my personal home and property.

Sincerely,
George R. Sawyer, Jr.

Dear Steve & Brent,

On behalf of my entire family, we thank you for all you did for us in trying to sell our parents’ house and with all you did leading up to the auction.  It was such a miserable day for the auction, but you both made it bearable and everything went smoothly.  Through your humor and personalities, we were very relaxed and comfortable with having you help us with our situation of having to sell the house we all grew up in and selling the memories of our childhood.

Thank you again for all you did for us, it meant a lot to us.  Have a great holiday season and cherish the time you have with your families.

Sincerely,

Tom and Don Brigham & family

In respect to: 2nd Annual 4th Grade Auction! Monday June 22, 2009 @ 8:45 AM. Auction was on site @ the Perry Browne Intermediate School Auditorium *89 Midland Drive; Norwich, NY 13815 (Chenango County).

Dear Zogg Brothers:

Thank you so much for taking the time to AGAIN to host Norwich City School District’s Fourth Grade Auction at Perry Browne Intermediate School. The auction would not have been such a success without you two! You both were very professional and at the same time very fun which is what made it so enjoyable for the children. Whether or not you know, you also played a huge role in motivating most students to do well in all areas throughout the school day, months prior to the auction. Earning “Zogg Bucks” was an everyday goal for all students so that they would be able to bid and possibly purchase some of the donated prizes from local businesses in Norwich and other places in the Chenango County area. The outcome of the auction, how fun it was and your “chant” were still being talked about several days later!

We all look forward to next year’s auction! We’re sure it will be talked about all school year as it was this year and will be just as much of a success or more!!

Thank you,
Fourth Grade Teachers:
Marissa Zogg

To Whom It May Concern:

I contracted with the Zogg Brothers Auctioneers to sell the home and contents of my late father. They quickly and efficiently inventoried the contents, advertised and conducted the auction.

We had a large number of specialty machine tools and the Zoggs targeted their advertising to get a respectable turn out of persons interested in such machinery. We obtained acceptable bids on everything including the house itself.

I found Zogg Brothers to be men of their word. They did as they promised they would. I heartily recommend their services to anyone finding themselves in a similar situation.

Sincerely,
Thomas Mercer (Estate of Donald Mercer auction)

To Zogg Brothers Auctioneers:

I would like to take the time to thank your organization for handling my auction of real estate, Silverado, JD 318 tractor & a HUGE assortment of tools, antiques & household goods on May 31, 2009! This was a lifetime collection by my late husband Richard Horner & the Horner family. Even in tough economic times, the home, land & personal property all sold for fair prices & the truck brought more than I expected. I'm glad I had the auction because I was able to sell everything all at once. Your service is unique because you can handle the real estate & the personal property together. The auction was well attended and advertised properly. I wanted to say though, I felt your company really cared about my needs & it wasn't about the money. Steve & Brett helped clean up around the place and they put in extra hours to make sure I was satisfied with them. Thanks for taking all the rubbish to the dump for me after the auction! You did everything you were supposed to do and you can use me as a reference. If you have any future customers that want to speak to me about your company have them call me at (607) 591-1908. I will be glad to put in a good word for you! I wish you luck at all your future auctions and if I ever hear of anyone who needs an auction, I will let them know about you fellows!

Very Truly Yours,
Beverly Horner

Dear Brent and Steve,

I wanted to take a minute and thank you both for all the hard work and the professional way that you handled the affairs for my brother's personal property estate auction in Greene NY in April 2009.

It was an extremely difficult task to say the least, with the volume of stuff Jim had both of value and not so much. As none of our family members lived in state to help with the preparation and sorting, all of this was placed on your shoulders. Our family was very pleased with the way that your team stepped up and took care of everything for us and all your efforts are greatly appreciated.

Thank you again for all of your help. We can now finally put a close to a very sad chapter in our lives.

Gratefully yours,
Stephanie Sutherland (Estate of James Volpe auction)

To Whom It May Concern:

Zogg Brothers handled the auction of my mother’s estate back in November of 2008. Everything ran very smoothly and we were very happy with the outcome of the sale. Brent and Steve were there to help get things organized before the sale and even took the time to come to town meetings with us as we had to get approvals to make smaller parcels. They cleaned up everything after the auction which helped us out a lot. They were professional and very easy to work with. They were always available to answer questions that we had.

Sincerely,

November 19, 2008

Dear Steve:

I want to thank you and your entire auction company for the smooth and efficient condition of business that transpired to complete the daunting task of auctioning the huge inventory of my mother’s estate.

Everyone in your company was courteous and hard working. I think people had fun!

The catering folks you arranged did a great job, especially since there was no water on the premises. Our suggestion for them though, from my two elderly aunts in the front row, is that potato chips and popcorn are a must have!

Thank you for finding me and calling me. Should I need to sell the real estate, I would look forward to asking your company to handle the auction for that too.

I interviewed other auction companies in the area and chose you because of your straight forward, sincere manner.

Your advertising and website were clear and operating with no excuses.

Nice tents, tables, and portalette.

Sincerely,
Grace Rooney, Executrix for the estate of Evelyn Bassani (Auction October 12, 2008)
Note: She would have been proud to see her treasures of a life time represented so well.

Dear Steve, Marisa, Brent and Crew,

Thank you for your fine job in handling the recent auction of tools and household goods of Stan and Lucy Kullman. All aspects of the auction were very well run, from the advertising to the layout of the presentation and selling of the items. It was very professional and brought the desired results of liquidating the assets and getting the items into the hands of people who would appreciate them. Keep up the good work.

Sincerely,
Ken and Cathy Paddock (Auction September 21, 2008)

To Whom it may concern:

If anyone were to ask us about a dependable auctioneer who could professionally conduct the sale of personal household property, we would most certainly recommend Zogg Brothers. They and their staff were well prepared for our recent auction. They displayed and presented the material adequately and speedily disposed of a large collection of miscellaneous property. Within two weeks, we received a complete listing of what was sold as well as a bank check for our share of the proceeds. We were totally satisfied with the service provided by the Zogg Brothers.

Stanley and Lucille Kullman (Auction September 21, 2008)

To whom it may concern:

Steven and Brent Zogg were the auctioneers for our September 2008 livestock/household consignment auction. I was injured shortly before the auction date and could not prepare the goats as I had planned. Steve and Brent, with a few of their hired hands, came to the farm the day before the auction and spent the whole day building pens, separating animals, and relocating some from another barn. I couldn’t have met my time constraint without their help. Those guys were not afraid to get down and dirty.

They are well versed in their trade and answered all of our questions and offered good ideas when we were at a loss. All aspects of the sale went smoothly the day of the sale because of their professionalism and skill.

We’d like to thank them very much as we were well pleased with the outcome of the sale.

Sincerely,
Marie and Carl Vogt (Auction September 13, 2008)

Thanks so much for the auction you had for me in Endicott, NY. Yes, I was satisfied. You both are very efficient and present a friendly “know what you are doing” front. I very highly recommend you to everyone.

Good luck in your future! You both are surely hard working young men, very impressive!

Thank you,
Irene Prawel (Auction July 17, 2008)

Dear Steve and Brent,

I am writing on behalf of my family to thank you for your good work in auctioning the possessions for the estate of Doc and Margaret Reese in Sherburne, New York, on June 21, 2008.

Your ongoing open communication with us as we went through the process was excellent and appreciated as this was the first time any of us had been involved in an auction. You answered our questions honestly and in a timely manner.

We appreciate your hard work in sorting through so many items and the organizational skills you showed as the auction took place.

Thank you again.

Sincerely,
Betty Reese Hertz (Auction June 21, 2008)

Steve and Brent,

On behalf of our youth going to the Dominican, we would like to express our heartfelt thanks to you both for the fantastic job at the auction. We raised (with a little bit of extra donations) almost $4,300!

You both made it a great experience and a lot of fun. So many people have commented and complimented you and we wanted to let you know that.

God bless!

To Whom It May Concern:

I hired Steven Zogg and his Auction Company to assist in settling my late husband’s estate. This estate entailed not only personal property, but a vehicle and real estate as well.

From the very beginning, Steve handled the entire planning and sale process with a high level of professionalism and courtesy. He and his company did an excellent job advertising the sale by allocating the predetermined budget in such a way as to maximize the exposure and draw an enthusiastic group of bidders. Steve communicated with me throughout the entire process so that I was included in the planning and execution of the sale. All of my questions and concerns were addressed in a timely manner.

On the day of sale, Steve and his company were friendly and organized. I was pleased with the results: as the real estate and vehicle sold for a very desirable price. Steve was also very good about keeping in contact with me and my attorney, after the sale, while waiting for the real estate transaction to close.

I recommend Steven and his company to anyone who is considering selling their estates or contents at auction. They will work hard to make sure that your sale is well advertised, well attended, and successful.

Sincerely,
Shirley MacKenzie (Auction September 29, 2007)

May 7, 2007

Dear Steve,

I am writing to thank you for your good work in auctioning the house in Slaterville. My client, the Executor of the estate, was quite pleased with the outcome. This was a small house in need of substantial repairs, and I was not confident we would have any bidders at all. The final price was a pleasant surprise. The entire process was easy for me as the estate’s attorney, and for the Executor.

Every step of the auction process was handled professionally, from developing an advertising program to the post-auction details necessary for the closing.

Thank you for your help. I look forward to working with you again.

Very truly yours,
John Moss Hinchcliff, Attorney, Miller Mayer, LLP (Auction January 28, 2007)
