"Doc" and Margaret Reese
This estate auction includes the home and possessions of Dr. and Mrs. William Reese who were respected residents of the Sherburne community.
“Doc” Reese, a fourth generation descendent of early Earlville residents, graduated from Cornell Veterinary College in 1935. Along with his private practice, he served as the Chenango County veterinarian who was credited with getting the county rabies problem under control.
Margaret Reese, a fifth generation descendent of early Smyrna residents, assisted “Doc” with the business while raising six children and influencing many more. The children include: Dick Reese, Betty Hertz, Cliff Reese, David Reese, Mary Easton, and Malcolm Reese.
Both Doc and Margaret influenced the lives of many through their involvement in church, Masons, and Eastern Star, county health committees and their children’s activities. This couple’s hard work and strong family values are remembered by all who knew them.
